Director ETE
TechnipFMC, Houston, TX

  • Ran global R&D as an operating unit: internal research, technology demonstrations, and product deployment.

  • Managed operating budgets and the resources that delivered the next generation of equipment.

  • Set metrics and release discipline so engineering and manufacturing could hit dates.

  • Founded External Technology Engagement and assessed outside technology against current plant and product-line operations.

  • Built integration plans with operations, finance, HR, and legal so adopted technology did not break delivery.

Vice President of Engineering
HOERBIGER, Girard, OH

  • Led engineering through post-acquisition integration of management, budgets, and product-management practices.

  • Increased product releases from one per year to three in Q4 2017 and five in Q1-Q3 2018.

Corporate R&D Manager
Engineering Manager
SLB, Houston, TX

  • Built Cameron’s Engineering Center of Excellence for CFD, FEA, and R&D services; 3-to-1 cost advantage versus vendors and more than $500,000 surplus.

  • Led reciprocating-engine and compression product lines (Cooper-Bessemer, Superior, Ajax, Enterprise) and OEM control-system launches.

  • At OneSubsea, built an integrated R&D organization from merged resources and ran the development budget.

  • After the Schlumberger acquisition, folded three organizations into SLB R&D centers and directed laboratory engineers and scientists.

  • Put design and cost-control discipline on launch (5% cost reduction) and led patent work resulting in six awards.

2010-2012
